Duke Haddad, Ed.D.CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) is currently executive director of development for The Salvation Army Indiana Division headquartered in Indianapolis, IN. He is also president of Duke Haddad & Associates, LLCanonprofit focused consulting firm in Indianapolis, Indiana. A prolific writer, Dr. Haddad has contributed articles to national publications for several decades. He currently publishes a weekly article on a variety of nonprofit topics for NonProfit PRO Magazine in Philadelphia, PA. He has worked for four universities (University of Louisville, Florida International University, the University of CharlestonandButler University in resource development/university relations roles, two hospital systems as vice president of development/president of Hospital Foundation (St. Vincent Hospital and Dayton Children’s Medical Center), National Director of Philanthropy for Make A Wish plus several consulting firms as senior consultant where the focus was capital campaigns. He was involved in securing through his consulting firm, the first million-dollar gift in the history of the Kiwanis International Foundation through a capital campaign, that was featured in the Wall Street Journal in 2006. He received a Bachelor’sDegree in marketing/management (cum laude) from West Virginia University, Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Marshall University (thesis annual fund U of L), Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration from West Virginia University (dissertation on characteristics of donors and non-donors at Butler University) plus post graduate work at the University of Louisville. He has received awards from Governors, including the Sagamore of the Wabash Award in Indiana, Outstanding West Virginian Award in West Virginia, and Kentucky Colonel Award in Kentucky. Dr. Haddadalso received a Distinguished Graduate Student Alumnus Award from Marshall University(Graduate School Commencement Speaker) and membership in the Jasper Deahl Honor Society by West Virginia University. He won a national second award from Brakeley John Price Jones Inc. for an article that featured Corporate Fund Raising in the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy Journal. He was also previously named Fundraising Executive of the Year Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Indiana chapter. Dr. Haddadwas granted lifetime membership in Nu Lambda Mu Honor Society by Nonprofit Academic Centers Council. He has previously taught undergraduate and graduate classes at Nova University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and for Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
