Training Overview

OSHA vaccine/testing mandates take effect. Learn how to handle requirements, exemptions, and leaves.

Employers must now comply with the OSHA emergency temporary standard (ETS) requiring vaccination or weekly testing. The Supreme Court heard oral arguments regarding these mandates on Friday, January 7 but did not immediately act before the regulation took effect on January 10.

Things could change fast, but the ETS is not just about vaccinations. Aside from this disputed regulation, OSHA separately requires or recommends many elements, which safety experts, states, and municipalities consider best practices.

You also need to know how to respond to unique employee situations, including religious and medical exemptions, leaves to address vaccination side effects, conflicts between vaccinated and unvaccinated colleagues, and countless other scenarios. It is essential to establish informed policies and procedures now so you will be prepared to address the flurry of exceptions that will arise in the weeks ahead.
