In response to the January 21 Presidential Executive Order, OSHA’s new COVID-19 National Emphasis Program (NEP) will protect employees in high-hazard industries and jobs from COVID-19.
This NEP:
- Augments OSHA’s preexisting COVID-19 efforts
- Adds a component to target specific high-hazard industries and activities
- Ensures that workers are protected from retaliation
Many industries that were considered low-risk became high-risk overnight due to COVID-19. You must determine if this program applies to your organization and take fast action to comply.
